What You Should Know About New Canada Caregiver Pilot
The new caregiver program is quite different from the previous program and offers a lot more opportunities to immigrants plus flexibility. Below are some of the key difference
- Work Experience: The new pilot program will provide caregivers with permanent residency upon arrival in Canada, unlike the previous program that required 12 months of Canadian work experience before processing your permanent residency.
- Language Test Score: In the new caregiver pilot, candidates interested in working in Canada’s home care sector can apply if they meet the Canadian language test benchmark (CLB) level 4 which is lower than the previous requirement of CLB 5.Â
- Educational Requirement: This new caregiver pilot requires candidates to hold the equivalent of a Canadian high school diploma(Secondary school certificate) which is also lower than the previous requirement of at least one year post-high school credential.
- The new pilot program also offers beneficiaries an expanded occupational requirement beyond working in traditional roles in private homes. It offers an opportunity to work in organizations that provide temporary or partÂtime care for people who are semi-independent or recovering from an injury or illness.
This new program above all, ensures that caregivers can more easily find proper work with reliable employers and have clear, straightforward access to permanent resident status as soon as they arrive in Canada.
