What is Kickstart Nigeria
Kickstart Nigeria is an initiative of the International Breweries Foundation founded by AB InBev with the objective of delivering impactful, developmental, and sustainable projects. Kickstart focuses on enterprise growth and development for young entrepreneurs. The programme supports youth-owned businesses through the provision of training, access to capital (grants), and mentoring.

How does it work?
Every year, kickstart Nigeria opens its application portal to young entrepreneurs who have innovative business ideas in the following categories; Agriculture, Circular Packaging (e.g. recycling), Climate Action, Water Stewardship, ICT, Education, Manufacturing/Production, Crafts, Healthcare and Others to submit their application. At the end of the day, best or better ideas are selected and shortlisted for startup funding of up to 3 million Naira. Existing businesses are also allowed to apply but they must not be above 3 years old.
Kickstart is also available within other countries in Africa, as an initiative of the Africa Zone of the AB InBev Group. The program hitherto has been successfully implemented in South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland, and Tanzania. In Nigeria, the program started in 2016 and has run three editions in the South West and South East region. With effect from 2019, Kickstart has become a national intervention in Nigeria, now open to youths in the six geo-political zones of the country.

Requirements for 2021 Kickstart Nigeria
Interested and eligible candidates/ businesses are to meet the following requirements;
- Applicants should be between the age of 18 years to 35 years.
- Applicants should be able to communicate in English language (read, write and speak).
- Applicants should reside in and have their business operations in Nigeria
- Businesses must be within 0 to 3years
Accepted Business Areas:
Businesses under the following categories are eligible;
- Agriculture – (aize, Rice and Sorghum value chain, and others)
- Circular Packaging (e.g., recycling)
- Renewable Energy
- Water Stewardship
- Modular Retailing (Unique small-scale sales model for International Breweries Plc. Products)
- Others(Not specified)
