Facts About NITDA
The National Information Technology Development Agency is a Nigeria Federal government agency that has the mandate to develop and regulate Information Technology in Nigeria and also help in transforming Nigeria into an IT-driven economy for global competitiveness and the dire need of digital literacy.
The agency is currently offering Scholarship awards for Master’s and Ph.D. in relevant areas of Computer/Information Technology (IT) and IT Law, obtainable in Universities.
Requirements for National Information Technology Development Agency Scholarship 2024
The scholarship is of two categories which are Ph.D. and MSc. and below are the requirements/criteria for qualification
- The Ph.D. category is for Lecturers in Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education with an MSc in any Computer and Information Technology related field.
- The MSc category is for holders of First Class or Second Class (Upper) Honours Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Information Technology related field and Law.
The Ph.D. and LLM scholarship are distributed to the six(6) Geopolitical Zones while the MSc is distributed to the 36 States and FCT.

Scholarship Duration
The Master’s program will run for a period of 12-18 months while the Ph.D. program will run for a maximum of 36 months.
How to Apply for NITDA Scholarship 2024
All interested and eligible candidates are required to complete their application form online by visiting the NITDA scholarship portal scholarship.nitda.gov.ng and also upload all required documents.
Deadline for Application for NITDA Scholarship Scheme 2024
The deadline for application is six weeks from the date of publication. So the application will end soon.

What Next After NITDA Scholarship Application?Â
After submitting your application, you are advised to prepare for a comprehensive computer-based Aptitude test which will be conducted for the award. Only candidates who passed the aptitude test will be shortlisted and invited for an interview (which includes a supplementary test, verification of credentials, and character evaluation).
