  • Pick A Platform

Just like we have android phones, iPhone, Java and Symbian phones, so do we have different Operating Systems(OS) for the laptop. There is Mac OS, Windows OS, and Chrome OS etc. Windows is the most flexible Operating System, and they have more models and make than others. They are more popular. While Windows is best for productivity, Mac O.S is best for design/art. Chromebooks are good for kids.

  • Choose The Right Size

How portable do you need your laptop to be? There are 11-12 inch screens which could weigh slightly below or above 1.4 Kg. There is 13-14 inch screen, which provides the best balance of portability and usability. 15-inch laptops weigh 2.2-3.2 Kg. 17-18 inch systems could provide you with good processing power needed to play high-end games. If you want to carry your laptop around all the time, choose wisely.Pick

  • Pick a Spec

This might sound like technical stuff, but it can be quite simple to understand. Here you talk about the CPU. CPU is the “brain” of the computer. It has a huge influence on performance. Depending on your reason for getting a laptop, even the least- expensive model may be good for you. The models of CPU include; Intel Core i5, Intel Core i3, Intel Core i7, Intel Atom, Intel Xeon, AMD A ( Fx or E series), etc. For the best combination of price and performance, Intel Core i5 CPU is the choice. Intel core i3 is below Intel core i5 in quality and price. Intel core i7 is above Intel Core i3 and Intel core i5 in quality and price. Also, models that end in Y, are of lower quality. Models with 7, in the beginning, are the latest generation( Core i7- 7820HQ, core i5- 7300U).

Different Generations of Intel Processors

  • RAM Size and Display

Ideally, at least 4GB or even 8GB of RAM. If you can afford it and do not need a ton of internal storage, get a laptop with Solid State Drive (SSD) rather than a hard drive, because it gives at least three times the speed and a much faster laptop overall.

The more pixels you have, the more content you can fit on the screen, and the sharper it will look. If you can afford it, go for a full HD (1920*1080). There are higher ones but they consume more power.Touch Screen and Keyboard

  • Touch Screen and Keyboard

All two in one, that is laptops that can be detached, come with a touchscreen. If it is a regular laptop that cannot be detached, touch screen offers little benefit and drains the battery.

Check the keyboard and touchpad, make sure there is enough space between the keys and a good vertical travel (distance the keys go when pressed, usually 1-2 mm).

Acer Laptops

If you plan to use your laptop regularly, and most people do. You need at least 6 hours of endurance, and 8 hours being ideal. To determine expected battery life, don’t always believe what the manufacturers tell you. Read reviews from objective sources.

  • Brand

Just like good football teams have good players, buying a laptop with a good brand name will most likely be a good laptop.

  • Durability

Laptops made of aluminum, magnesium alloy of carbon fiber are durable. A spill-resistant laptop is good too.Laptop

Conclusion

A good laptop will always give you some sense of fulfillment and satisfaction not forgetting that feeling of getting the right value for your money and I believe we have touched almost all important feature to consider before buying a laptop in this Laptop Guide so now that you know these, you can buy a laptop that will suit your needs and is within your budget.
