Responsibilities of Construction Helpers

Below are some duties you will be expected to carry out as a construction helper on your resumption.

  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials
  • Read blueprints to determine work requirements
  • Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring, and barricades
  • Assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems

Qualifications & Experience Needed to Work In Canada As a Construction Helper

You will be expected to meet these requirements if you wish to apply as a construction helper in Canada.

  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
  • Extensive knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the job of a construction helper
  • Valid Driver’s License(since the job requires moving around, you may need a driving license)
  • Ability to commute/relocate
  • Lively, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
