The Police Service Commission is one of the fourteen (14) Federal Executive Bodies established under section 153 (1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999. The body is charged with the responsibility, among other things to appoint and promote persons to offices (other than the office of the Inspector-General of Police) in the Nigeria Police Force as well as to dismiss and exercise disciplinary control over persons within the Nigeria Police Force.
