List of Government Approved Loan Apps in Nigeria – Trusted Loan Apps in Nigeria

The Nigeria loan industry seem to have taken a new turn since 2018 and the birth of Covid-19 saw the influx of loan apps on the rise while the year 2022 was a year where most Nigerians received calls or sms tagging their friends, family and other contacts as fraudstars or debtors for not refunding loans borrowed from loan apps and in some cases, the loan was already paid without proper records and update on the loan app servers.

The series of pre-recorded calls and SMS to millions of Nigerians as a resault of contact theft or unapproved contact harvesting by these loan apps resulted series of sactions and order of closure by the government and also the need for official licensing before commencement of operations in the Nigerian space with a deadline given as Novermber 14th 2022 and later extended to 31st January 2023 by the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC).

Following the above authomatium, some loan apps has obeyed the order and has followed the due process and have now been fully approved while some are still under conditional approval but are permitted to operate for the time been and here are the list of government approved loan apps in Nigeria at the moment.

Final Words

Borrowing is not a bad idea but it is always borrow what you can pay or at least reach out to the company few days to deadline if for any reason you think you can’t meet up with the deadline.

It is also important to check the type of interest rate a loan company uses before lending money from them because some tends to compound their interest over time especialy if you miss the deadline.
