The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) is charged with the duty of stimulating, monitoring, and coordinating the development of the MSMEs sub-sector and also initiating and articulating policy ideas for small and medium enterprises growth and development for rural industrialization, poverty reduction, job creation, and enhanced livelihoods. The body is also empowered to create programs to aid the promotion, and support services to accelerate the development and modernization of MSME operations in Nigeria.
In line with the above mandate, the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) has created a portal for the registration of all MSMEs in Nigeria for easy reach and to ensure easy access to benefits due for all MSMEs in the country.

How to Register Your Business On SMEDAN Registration Portal
If you are an owner of Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria, you need to follow the steps below to register your business in the SMEDAN registration portal so as to obtain your SMEDAN Unique Identification Number (SUIN).
- Visit the SMEDAN registration portal on https://www.smedanregister.ng/Â
- Click on Get the Start or scroll to the end of the page and click on Register or use this direct link https://www.smedanregister.ng/#signup-form
- Fill in your details and ensure all information is accurate(you need your business name, phone number, email, and password)
- Click on get started to proceed to the next page
- Fill in other details needed on the page(CAC is not compulsory)
- Enter your personal details and proceed to select your business category
- Click submit
- Check your email for a confirmation email after a successful registration
- Login to your profile
How to Register Your Business On SMEDAN with USSD Code
SMEDAN recently partnered with MTN Nigeria to create a USSD code to enable MSMEs who do not have access to smartphones, laptops, or internet connection to register their business on the SMEDAN database.
To register your business now, simply dial this code *6555# on any phone with an MTN line then follow the prompt.

SMEDAN Certificate Portal | How to Get SMEDAN Certificate
After successful registration, you can download your SMEDAN Certificate certificate from the SMEDAN portal just by entering your registered phone number and password you provided during the signup process above.
The certificate is a PDF document that can be found on the first page after login. Click on it, then download the PDF to your local device.
How to Get SMEDAN Registration Number
If you have successfully registered your business on the SMEDAN registration portal, you can get your smedan registration number by downloading your certificate. Your SMEDAN number looks like this SUINxxxxxxx. You can use this number on any platform that requires your smedan registration number.
How to Benefit From Loan and Other Opportunities on SMEDAN Portal
To be eligible for the benefits offered on the SMEDAN portal, you need to pay the sum of 200 Naira monthly on the platform. You can see this information in the welcome email that will be sent to you at the point of activation.
