National Health Fellows Programme Now Open | Apply Now
Following the approval by the president on the establishment of the National Health Fellows Programme and a financial administrative monitoring mechanism for the health sector, starting with the primary healthcare facilities across the country, young Nigerians in the healthcare sector are about to experience a new dispensation.
The announcement for the approval of the fellows’ programme was announced on Monday 8th April according to a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media And Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale.
According to his statement, the fellows programme will engage young Nigerians from relevant fields in all the 774 local government areas in the country and also focus on upgrading service delivery at all the primary healthcare centres across all council areas of the country.

About the National Health Fellows Programme
The National Health Fellows Programme is one of the programmes under the President Tinubu Renewed Hope agenda under Nigeria’s Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative.
Under this programme, well-trained fellows will serve as fiduciary agents to monitor and track Primary Healthcare Centre development and performance, and their records will then be used to measure against all financial inflows to the centres nationwide. The fellowship programme will be domiciled in the Sector Wide Approach (SWAp) coordination office under the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.
The Recruitment Process
Young Nigerians will be recruited as fellows, renumerated, and equipped with appropriate tools to track the performance of the Basic Health Care Provision Fund and then assigned to various health facilities across the nation.

Applying for the National Health Fellows Programme
Although the approval for the establishment of the NHFP has been given, the application portal for interested Nigerians who wish to participate in the programme is yet to be launched. Hence all interested persons are to keep an eye on national daily and other communication channels for announcements.
