MTN Scholarships 2025 Application Portal, Requirements and How to Apply for MTN Scholarship for Undergraduate

About MTN Scholarship Programme

The MTN scholarships programme is part of  MTN Youth Development Cause, provided on annual bases for recognizing and rewarding dedicated, high-performing students across Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions. MTN has so far created three major scholarship categories to cater to the diverse needs of exceptional scholars in the country. The types of scholarships available below

List of MTN Nigeria Scholarships 2025

MTN currently offers the following undergraduate scholarships to interested and eligible Nigerians;

• MTN Science and Technology Scholarship(MTN STS)
• MTN Scholarship for blind students(MTN SBS)
• MTN Top 10 UTME Scholarship

MTN Science and Technology Scholarship(MTN STS)

The MTN STS is the flagship program created in 2010 and is open to eligible 300-level students studying Science and Technology-related courses, in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education). Under this scholarship option, 300 successful students are awarded scholarships worth N200,000 (Two hundred thousand Naira) annually till graduation, provided they maintain the required grades.

MTN Scholarship for Blind Students

The MTN SBS was launched in 2012 and targeted at eligible 200 and 300-level blind students studying any course in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education). Annually, 60 successful blind students are awarded this scholarship worth N200,000.00 till graduation, provided they maintain the required grades.

MTN Top 10 UTME Scholarship

The MTN top 10 UTME scholarship was added in 2020 to reward the top 10 highest-scoring candidates of UTME as announced by JAMB. These high flyers are automatically qualified for the top 10 UTME scholarships. The successful candidates are awarded scholarships worth N200,000.00 from their 100 level through to graduation if they maintain the required grades.

MTN Scholarship Requirements

If you are interested in any of the above scholarship options, you are to meet these requirements;

• You must be a Nigeria citizen
• Applicants for MTN STS and MTN SBS must be in a Nigerian Public Tertiary Institution (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education).
• Applicant must be in your level 200 or 300 depending on your scholarship option.
• Applicants for MTN STS must be studying a science and technology-related course
• STEM Students in Public Universities and Colleges of Education must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) score of 3.0/4 or 3.5/5 (second-class upper credit)
• STEM Students in Public Polytechnics must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0 (upper credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Program and must have secured admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) Program.
• Direct-level STEM students must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (upper credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) program and must have secured admission into 300 level/3rd year in a Public University.
• Blind Students in Universities or Colleges of Education must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5
• Blind Students in Public Polytechnics must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0 from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Program and must have secured admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) Program.
