Requirements for ECOWAS January 2020 Recruitment

Interested applicants for any of the above roles are to meet the requirements specified for that position.

Requirements for Principal Program Officer

Applicant should hold a master’s degree or equivalent in journalism, public relations or any related specialized field from a recognized university.
Applicant should have 10 years of responsible experience in journalism, communications, public relations, or a related field of which 3 years is at a supervisory level.
Applicant should have proven competence in developing content and implementing wide range communications strategies to broaden awareness of Activities, Programmes, and priorities.
Applicant should be below 50 years old except for international applicants.

Requirements for Community Decisions Monitoring and Coordination

Applicant should hold a Master’s degree in business or public administration, economics or a similar field from a recognized university.
Applicant should have 10 years of professional experience in management including 2 years relevant international work and 2 years at a supervisory level and good knowledge of ECOWAS as a whole and the role of the institutions of the ECOWAS Community;
Applicant should have demonstrated expertise in successively setting up a framework to monitor decisions making process.
Applicant should have a proven track record on policy-related work to governance, economic reforms and social issues.
Applicant should be less than 50 years old.

Requirements for Communication Officer

Applicants should hold a BSc in Journalism, Public Relations, Mass Communication or a related field from a recognized university.
Applicant should have 5 years’ experience in journalism, communications, and public relations.
Applicant should have knowledge in developing communication strategies and plans for internal and external communication.
The applicant should be less than 50 years old.

Requirements for Office Manager

Applicant should hold HND or equivalent in secretarial studies or administration or a related field from a recognized higher institution.
The applicant should have 6 years’ experience in administrative and secretarial services.
Applicant should have knowledge of related computer software and relevant ECM filing systems and correspondence-related procedures, guidelines and processes for preparing and using administrative documents and templates.
Applicant should be less than 50 years old.

Requirements for Director of External Relations

Applicants should hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in international relations, political science, public administration or a related field from a recognized university.
Applicants should have 12 years of progressively responsible experience in providing strategic analysis and policy advice, including experience in international organizations.
The applicant should be less than 50 years old.
