The volunteer opportunity is offered by Rock UK a Christian charity based in the UK which has been running outdoor adventures for over 100 years.
Rock UK welcomes lots of school groups, youth groups, churches, and businesses at their various centers for exciting adventure activities on weekly, day visits and weekends away.
The charity offers adventure programs such as canoeing, kayaking, climbing, archery, and many more.
Working as a Volunteer at Rock Uk
Volunteers working at the Rock UK are expected to be committed to the Rock UK Christian fellowship and participate in regular Bible studies (in English) at the centre as well as the opportunity to worship and get involved with a local church.
After training and induction, volunteers work around 37.5 hours a week, having free access to accommodation with a weekly allowance for meals and basic toiletries. Laundry and cleaning facilities are also provided.

Duties Of Rock UK Volunteers
After training you would be expected to:
- Clean and prepare the dining room for guests
- Carry out washing-up duties
- Serve food to guests
- Assist with building safety checks
- Assist with dietary and table plans and checking requirements
- Welcome guests into the dining room and advise menu details
- Assist with cleaning and preparing the center for guests
- You might also be asked to assist the maintenance team with some maintenance duties.
- Depending on your area of interest and abilities you may also have the opportunity to work with other departments for example; the center’s administration team
Volunteer Jobs In the UK with Visa Sponsorship
Rock UK provides a Certificate of Sponsorship (COS) number for a Temporary Worker – Charity Worker visa for all those offered an opportunity to work as a volunteer in the program. However, participants are expected to pay for flights, visa fees, and health surcharges.
- The visa application fee is £259, and the Health Surcharge is £1035.
Rock UK will reimburse you 50% of the cost of the Health Surcharge after you arrive and have worked for a set time. Further details are available in the application pack and you can get more information by requesting on their website.

Volunteer Duration
- Placements for this program are for a minimum of 9 months to a maximum of 12 months
- Placement starts in January and September each year so applicants can apply for the next placement before time.
Eligibility Criteria for Rock UK Volunteering Opportunity
- Applications for this volunteer program are open to UK, EU, and non-EU residents.
- must be at least 18 years old and are typically up to 28 years old.
