Ogun State N1bn Grant for Small Businesses 2024 Application Portal, Requirements and How to Apply

The Ogun State governement is set to commence the second phase of the N1 billion Naira grant for small businesses in the State and all interested and eligible business owners in the state are invited to submit their application forms now through the grant application portal.

Facts About Ogun State N1bn Grant

The Ogun state N1 billion grant for small businesses is a grant born out of the Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) response program launched by the President Buhari-led governement in 2022 through a USD 750 Million World Bank-assisted loan. The State as well as other states conducted the first phase of the grant in 2022 and early 2023.

In a more recent development, Mr. Adebola Sofela the Commissioner for Industry, Trade, and Investment and a member of the Ogun State COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus Steering Committee said on Monday 20th November that the state governor Dapo Abiodun has directed the immediate commencement of the disbursement process for the second phase of the grants.

According to him, during the first phase of the grant, over N120 million was disbursed to more than 1,000 micro and small entrepreneurs across the 20 local government areas of the state.

Who can apply for the Ogun State Grant?

The N1 bn grant is open to only Micro and Small Enterprises owners in the state under any of the following categories:

  • Retail
  • Fashion
  • Hair & Beauty
  • Light Manufacturing
  • Hospitality

Purpose of the Grant

The grant is expected to be used to finance the following;

  • Payment of Utilities such as; Water, Electricity, Internet Service Subscription, etc…
  • Payment of Rent for Office, Shop, and Cold Room Rent
  • Payment of Salaries (Evidence must be provided)

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to apply for this grant, your business must meet these criteria;

  • Your Business must be located in Ogun State
  • You must have a minimum of three employees
  • Your business must have been in operation for at least 2 years
  • The profitability of business must have been reduced as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

All interested and eligible candidates who wish to apply for the grant should submit their application forms online via the Ogun State NG-CARE grant application portal at https://cares.plax.ng/ogun. You can also follow the below steps to submit your application

Steps to Apply for Ogun State N1bn Grant for Small Businesses

To get started, visit this link https://www.ngcaresbusiness.org/

  • While on the portal, Click on the drop-down menu to select State and choose Ogun State. Then click on Go to Portal. This will take you to the link mentioned on how to apply above, click on Apply. Then proceed to enter the following details:
  • Business name
  • What kind of business? (General Services/Artisans, Specialised Services, Agriculture (Crop and Livestock),
  • Transportation/Logistics, Trading and Manufacturing)
  • What kind of –? (Here, you will be able to select your specific business type)
  • How much sales (in naira) do you currently make monthly?
  • What date/year did you open your business?
  • Phone number of head of business
  • Number of employees
  • First name of head of business
  • Last name of head of business
  • Email of the head of business
  • Email
  • Date of birth of head of business
  • Gender of head of business
  • State of business
  • LGA of business

After you’ve entered and verified that all information provided is correct, click on Submit.

It is important to note that Businesses that apply in multiple states or states wherein they do not operate will be disqualified. So make sure you only apply in your state.
