Canada is a popular destination for English speakers all around the world but Canada also has some Francophone communities seeking more manpower to grow their businesses. Based on this, the Canadian government has launched the Francophone Community Immigration Pilot(FCIP) program since these communities play a critical role in Canada’s long-term growth.

The Canada Francophone Community Immigration Pilot is targeted at getting more skilled worker immigrants to local Francophone communities in Canada.

Canada Rating for French-Speaking Immigrants

Currently, the Refugees and Citizenship Canada(IRCC) considers a French-speaking immigrant to be a newcomer who declares knowledge of “French only” as their official language; or French and English as their official languages, as well as French as the official language in which they are most at ease. To determine this, the Economic immigration pathways for French speakers have a test score(TCF Canada) requirement that you must meet to be accepted as a French-speaking immigrant. This test covers;

No exceptions are made in this test so you must pass the test to be considered as a French-speaking immigrant in Canada.

Getting Started With Canada Francophone Community Immigration Pilot Program Application

Before you can apply for this program, you must first get a job offer in Canada and preferably in the community you want to stay. 

To get a job, you can search some of these local job portals; Canada Jobbank, Indeed.ca, LinkedIn, etc. Make sure you set your location to Quebec province or any other French-speaking province in Canada. When you find a that matches your skill set, submit your application(you can find things needed here).

After you’ve got your job, please proceed to submit your application form on the FCIP portal. Please note that this portal will open in Spring 2024 and will collect applications till the end of 5 years or more depending on the decision of the Canadian government.
